ould Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “Terminator” Become a Real Life Threat ???

We understand the worries, BUT, future robot artificial intelligence could hardly be worse than the human species current behavior………:+(

It makes one wonder how a current generation human “creator” can endow the new androids with the “omega point” wisdom to transcend to a new peaceful humanity……..;+)

“The Omega Point is the purported maximum level of complexity and consciousness towards which some believe theuniverse is evolving. The term was coined by the French Jesuit Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881–1955).”

“In this theory, developed by Teilhard in The Future of Man (1950), the universe is constantly developing towards higher levels of material complexity and consciousness, a theory of evolution that Teilhard called the Law of Complexity/Consciousness. For Teilhard, the universe can only move in the direction of more complexity and consciousness if it is being drawn by a supreme point of complexity and consciousness. Thus Teilhard postulates the Omega Point as this supreme point of complexity and consciousness, which in his view is the actual cause for the universe to grow in complexity and consciousness. In other words, the Omega Point exists as supremely complex and conscious, transcendent and independent of the evolving universe.”

“Teilhard argued that the Omega Point resembles the Christian Logos, namely Christ, who draws all things into himself, who in the words of the Nicene Creed, is “God from God”, “Light from Light”, “True God from true God,” and “through him all things were made.””

“The idea is developed in later writings, such as those of John Godolphin Bennett (1965), John David Garcia (1971),Paolo Soleri (1981), Frank Tipler (1994), and Ray Kurzweil, as well as in science fiction literature.”

“Raymond “Ray” Kurzweil (born February 12, 1948) is an American author, computer scientist, inventor, futurist, and is a director of engineering at Google. Aside from futurology, he is involved in fields such as optical character recognition(OCR), text-to-speech synthesisspeech recognition technology, and electronic keyboard instruments. He has written books on health, artificial intelligence (AI), transhumanism, the technological singularity, and futurism. Kurzweil is a public advocate for the futurist and transhumanist movements, as has been displayed in his vast collection of public talks, wherein he has shared his primarily optimistic outlooks on life extension technologies and the future of nanotechnology, robotics, and biotechnology.”

“Kurzweil was the principal inventor of the first CCD flatbed scanner, the first omni-font optical character recognition, the first print-to-speech reading machine for the blind, the first commercial text-to-speech synthesizer, the first music synthesizer Kurzweil K250 capable of recreating the grand piano and other orchestral instruments, and the first commercially marketed large-vocabulary speech recognition.

“Kurzweil received the 1999 National Medal of Technology and Innovation, America’s highest honor in technology, from President Clinton in a White House ceremony. He was the recipient of the $500,000 Lemelson-MIT Prize for 2001, the world’s largest for innovation. And in 2002 he was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame, established by the U.S. Patent Office. He has received twenty honorary doctorates, and honors from three U.S. presidents. Kurzweil has been described as a “restless genius” by The Wall Street Journal and “the ultimate thinking machine” by Forbes.PBS included Kurzweil as one of 16 “revolutionaries who made America” along with other inventors of the past two centuries. Inc. magazine ranked him #8 among the “most fascinating” entrepreneurs in the United States and called him “Edison’s rightful heir”.

“Kurzweil has authored seven books, five of which have been national bestsellers. The Age of Spiritual Machines has been translated into 9 languages and was the #1 best-selling book on Amazon in science. Kurzweil’s book The Singularity Is Near was a New York Times bestseller, and has been the #1 book on Amazon in both science andphilosophy. His latest bestseller is How to Create a Mind: The Secret of Human Thought Revealed Kurzweil speaks widely to audiences public and private and regularly delivers keynote speeches at industry conferences like DEMO,SXSW and TED. His website catalogs his public speaking, publications and media appearances. He maintains the news website, KurzweilAI.net, which has over three million readers annually.

Elon Reeve Musk (born June 28, 1971) is a South African-born, Canadian-American business magnate, inventor,[and investor. He is the CEO and CTO of SpaceX and CEO and chief product architect of Tesla Motors. He was an early investor in SpaceXPayPal, Inc. Tesla Motors, and Zip2, and is widely considered a co-founder of each. He has also envisioned a conceptual high-speed transportation system known as the Hyperloop.”
